Nothing to do with ataxia but would just like to say a happy 'Burns' day to all ataxia's Scottish members.

Burns day
Belated Happy Burns Day to you! XX
My husband Ian (who really wishes his name is spelt like yours) loves his Scottish roots as do my kids. We did celebrate last night with an amazing supper at the pub - smoked haddock broth, homemade haggis with hotch potch and superb whisky tart with Drambuie custard!! Not good for the waistline but so tasty.
Not many people I know like haggis but I love it. Glad you enjoyed your celebration dinner in the pub. Just love traditional Haggis, neeps and tatties with whiskey sauce.
Not a Scot, Iain, but lived in Glasgow for four years and like Rabbie. Happy Burns Night to you.
Thanks Margaret
Hi Iain, I'm not Scottish but I hope you had a great night. 😀
Thanks Hope. I did have a nice time
Thanks Iain. A bit late in replying - but a good evening was had. Burns' Cottage is on my daily "walk" (it's only a couple of miles from here), so everything Burns is a bit special round here. There's a bit of an event on Saturday night down here (if I toddle along, I'll be taking my camera too - so expect a few pics).
Are you on Facebook? I'll probably post the pics there first, and on here next week:
Hope that you had a great night!
The Other Iain
Don't use fb often Iain but yes I am on it. Nice part of the country you stay in.
Liked your page on facebook Iain. I have read your piece in the latest Ataxia magazine. I too have Cerebellar Ataxia and recently also diagnosed with 'Cerebellar Cognitive Affective Syndrome'. 2010 I was diagnosed. I really admire your Ataxia UK fundraising efforts. You also look great in your ataxia shirt and kilt.
Cheers Iain. I even managed to get STV involved. The article is only on their online site for now, but still great for reaching a wider audience:

The walk across Canada *might* be replaced by a shorter walk around the coastline of Ireland though. The overall distance is not the problem, it's the distance that I can walk each day. And there are a couple of places on the Canada route where a 30-mile walk is needed between any population centres (which I need for food/water). The Irish route, on the other hand, has daily walks of just 8-12 miles. Which is much more sensible - for those "just in case..." moments
I am not Scottish and have 0 idea what Burns Day is but I do have ataxia. N
Any btw happy Burns Day. N
Hi Iain belated Burns Day to you. Born in Edinburgh but live in Spain, Irish mother, so mixed up a bit. x Berejena x
