A good day today

KiwiBob profile image
25 Replies

I have had a very good day today.

I was able to do a 3.5 mile walk this morning. Then go into my loft and finish sorting my loft installation.

Just back from a small river walk. This is the most relaxed I have been for a long time.

Going to take it easy now and watch the rugby with some gluten free beer and a home made curry from my freezer.

Hello, I also have trouble trying to walk, push a trolly around the house, then if it’s not windy can just about walk around the block pushing a rollator.

Hope you have a good day. Bye.

I am not so good today. Back to moving slowly as if my body is trying to catch up to my brain.

What part of New Zealand do you live in? You've just beaten us in Rugby! I'm a South African. My home is in Johannesburg.

I live in Scotland.

That's a surprise with a name like yours! Of course, the 'Bob' is Scottish. My grandfather was from Aberdeen.

My dad was from Glasgow. Which is how I ended up here.

Sorry to be a nuisance. Don't worry to reply. I was just intrigued. I presume you lived sometime in NZ.

The did not watch the New Zealand v South Africa game.

It was not on here. Sky sports my of showed it, but I don’t have sky sports.

They did show the Wales v Australia game, and I did watch that one.

Since my move into a retirement home following my husband's death, I haven't had a TV. No room in my new little home, but I do get the scores. South Africa was badly hammered by the All Blacks, which is the usual case!

As I have learned, take the good days, when they come, and enjoy them and treasure that time. Like you, I have some slow days, when I move slowly, and couldn’t make myself go faster, if my life depended upon it. I guess it’s just the nature of living with Ataxia!

I have had some good days lately. Trying to do as much walking as I can before I am back to being stuck in the house.

How do u walk without aids any tips

KiwiBob profile image

Most of the time I use a walking stick and hold on to someone as and when needed.

But when I go though a good spell I only use the walking stick as and when needed.
