Hi everyone I will be seeing the respertory nurse on Thursday I'm just wondering because they never say anything about copd and the only information I've learnt about copd is from this forum is there anything I should be asking nurse that might be beneficial to know or what should be happening when I go cause odd times I see her she ask how I am I tell her she says you're on a good inhaler so I'm just wondering if I should ask her something but cause I'm not clued up if anyone has any guidance

I don’t have copd but am just bumping this up so someone who does will see it!
I have COPD and had a respitary nurse for years. I find they are more interested in weighing me, seeing how tall I am and how many units of alcohol I consume.
If you are not happy about something, say your breathing is worse, you canmention that, also if you think your inhalers are not working like they did. Has your beathing got to a point when you have been really worried - You could ask about that.
If your inhaler is doing for you, but she wants to change it, you may politely say you would rather stay on the one you have got, if on the other hand you feel your inhalers are not working that good, you could ask about a change.
Lastly is you have been feeling unwell, more tired that usual, you may want to mention that.
might be an idea to contact the ALUK helpline before your appointment see if they can give you any hints .
Hello,
There is a well tried formula that can be used ( should be ) when reviewing/checking your COPD. Many of us are finding that we are just not being asked
Perhaps you can ask this nurse what they need to know from you when you are there for the review ? Ask what do they usually want to know from you, especially important to help to keep you well.
Let us know how you get on won’t you ?
Go well
Pauline
Have to say from my experience I get no benefit from the annual review and refused it this year. Nhs England state the spirometry test should once again be part of the review but not at my surgery. Money for old rope springs to mind
Having moved a few times, the above questionnaire seems standard in annual reviews.
Ask her if you would benefit from Pulmonary Rehab.
