The last couple of days I have been more breathless than usual especially after eating can't see my gp umtill Monday what I'm wondering is would it be very wrong to take an extra dose of trimbow as trimbow works better for me than ventilin, any one taken it three times a day

maybe contact the ALUK helpline ….they are open now

Ring your gp and ask the receptionist.

Or your pharmacist

Best wishes

we were told by lung uk not to taketrimbow more than the twice a-day even the lower dose one. Itsthe third ingredient that is the issue and reason not to increase it.

Hello! Are starting to feel any better today? I only say that because I too have been very breathless over the last few days, due to the humidity. Tuesday/Wednesday according to my little gadget, it has been 80-85% but today 60%! Just a thought!

Hope you find a solution and feel better xx

I often take more than twice a day, I’ve never been told not to, that includes the chest clinic.

Can I ask what Trimbow is and what’s it for? Thanks

jackdup profile image
jackdup in reply tosingingloud

It is an inhaler which contains a steroid.

Thanks

I see a pulmonologist next Tuesday to see if we can diagnose what’s going on with the nodes and ground glass they see in my CT.

I have had the same for a few years with no real explanation other then they were likely caused by an infection at some point. I have followup scans every six months to make sure there hasn’t been any significant change to either of them.

Have you had a dieticians appt? Some food and drink can make me wheezy/ asthma or breathless with bronchiectasis flare up.

Hi, I currently take the trimbow inhaler, I take two puffs twice a day, the one I have is 87/5/9 which is the red capped inhaler, if the red capped inhaler, there is there'another strength of the tribow inhaler which is 172/5/9, u can switch from the red capped inhaler which is the weaker dose inhaler and u can switch to the green trimbow inhaler which is the stronger one, u just need to ask for the 172/5/9 which is really stronger, I hope this helps

u are very welcome, the trimbow was and is my last resort in trying to get control of my asthma, I was on two other inhalers, spiriva and another steroid inhaler, I was put on those inhalers in 2019 and everything seemed to be ok and then all of a sudden I was needing my nebuliser quite often and no one could work out as to why or what was causing my frequent asthma attacks so I was referred to another specialist and and they were going to test for copd before giving me trimbow but then they decided not to test me for copd because if the trimbow worked, then it was more than likely that I had copd, since I started taking the trimbow, it has calmed my asthma down, I still get symptoms every now and then but now all is good
