I have a constant cough since I contacted COVID in 2023, resulting in Haemophilus influenzae! I have been prescribed 6 different antibiotics and Doxycycline for past three months but still showing in sputum! I am due for knee replacement with spinal block soon do you think this will be possible?

I’m colonised with HI and was on a prophylactic course of doxy last year when I had surgery. It didn’t affect the surgery. I had a general anaesthetic and was monitored closely post surgery.

When I had my gall bladder out I spoke with the surgeon and told him of my fear with the constant cough he said not to worry he would put a little something into the mix and blow me down I didn't cough once from being put onto whatever it was. Have a word with the surgeon x
