hi all just a quick question can Covid affected your lungs when you are on blood thinners?, I had Covid at the beginning of December which was pretty bad, i feel like I recovered well but I’m back to square one again my chest hurt and I’m a bit more breathless but I also suffer from severe anxiety and I don’t know whether it anxiety or I’m ill again, sorry for waffling on. Hope everyone is having a joyful, peaceful, healthy, happy Christmas and all the very best for the new year, may it be filled with healing healthy thoughts

Covid Again
The only way you'll find out is to have a medic listen to your lungs for infection .. im sure civid would knock your immune system making you vulnerable or susceptible to any bugs going so best to check with a professional. My neighbour 85, is on blood thinners for AFib and has had covid at least twice. She's also had all her vaccinations and boosters, none of her bouts of covid have been too bad and didn't affect her blood thinners. Best take medical advice, perhaps call 111.
She did smoke most of her adult life but doesn't have copd.......or if she does its very mild .
The current form of Covid seems to take longer to recover from, if my experience is anything to go by. All we can do is take it easy. xxx
Hi chook, I think anything flu kind or virus can affect your lungs even if you don't have lung problems. I would contact gp even if it's to put your own mind at rest, especially if you suffer with anxiety. That's like a double whammy for anyone. Good luck 👍 😉
Hi Cimmy - I am on "Blood Thinners" (Rivaroxaban) and having COVID really made no difference taking blood thinners and have COPD, my GP never advised me to stop.
