Good morning, this morning I have tested positive for covid, felt flushed and chesty last night and did an eliminating test but was surprised to see that the covid test was positive. I also spoke to my gp surgery last week regarding vaccine jab but was told that I'm not over 75 yet .I have been to breathe easy gym Monday and cinema weds (20) people in there and that's all this week so someone has kindly shared with me 😬

Sorry to hear this B 😔. I hope you don't feel too bad. Covid is on the rise here. My daughter had it recently. Before she visits she always takes a test just to be sure and she tested positive but didn't feel ill. Take it easy. xx 💐

How horrible for you B0xermad, I do hope you’ll feel better soon. It really annoys me that over 75’s get offered the jab, rightly so, but it seems to begin and end right there. I must admit though if you are immunosuppressed or have chronic lung disease etc. you can have the jab. Your GP surgery is wrong. Pete was offered a jab some weeks ago and I was given one too. We’re 72 and 71 so when you’re well insist on having your Covid jab. Take care xxx

Thank you sassy ,gp reception said they will get to me in September, fat lot of good that is already a bit late now but hey ho .I am keeping hydrated and medicated for a couple days see how it goes ,hopefully just a cold option ,I have rescue meds but unsure if they will help

Rescue meds will help if your chest flares up I believe. Pete had antivirals when we had Covid in March last year but still got a chest infection.

You needed a jab earlier and you did meet the criteria for the spring booster but a bit late now. Take care xxxx❤️

Thank you for your reply, I had antivirals last time with covid but obviously the gps here are a bit slow on keeping up with the vaccination over 75s we're done in June.

Sorry to hear this. I'm afraid the only way we can avoid covid is to live like hermits, and even then it could still come to get us. I hope it isn't too bad and you soon start to feel better. xxxx

Good luck BOxermad. It's annoying that people have stopped taking precautions like hand hygiene, it seems people carry on as normal if they have it. Kind of understandable for healthy people but what about the health compromised in society.

I caught it from my grandson 8 or daughter 3 weeks ago. They were hardly effected but kept Raf away from school because his pal's mum is undergoing chemo.

Mine wasn't too bad (I'm just left with sinusitis and that's horrible) so I do hope your dose of it isn't too bad either.

Thanks peege,I have no idea how I got it because we social distance at the gym group and no one around me in the cinema but it's an airborne virus so who knows.

Hi! Sorry you got the dreaded again. I was gifted it when I went to the surgery for a blood test!

As I became very congested, I did a course of Doxy as a precaution. I happened to have a phone appointment with my consultant, who said if I was still full of gunk at the end of the course to go straight into a second course. Which is what I did.

I do hope you feel better soon xx

Hi Leo thank you, I do have amoxicillin and prednisolone if needed if it was to go chest infection way but hopefully it won't

Sadly there is a new COVID wave hitting parts of the UK. Happily I still have plenty of COVID testing kits from the ONS winter study. Why they sent so many is beyond me but it saves me money. Hopefully you will have mild symptoms and recover quickly. My last bout was so mild that if I had not been going into hospital for tests I do not think I would have known.

Bless you, I got it for the first time from a hospital stay but it’s hard to avoid it now. I really hope you are feeling better soon hun , I had a nasty headache for a few days and chills but I’ve had the vaccinations which you should have had being vulnerable.

Take care

my friends brother in law caught it after a stay in hospital a couple of weeks ago and he was 89! Luckily he didn’t give it to his wife. I don’t think hospitals are testing patients now sadly

I've read Covid is also on the rise here in the United States. I've also heard of people testing positive without feeling symptoms, like Caspiana said of her daughter. I understand we'll have a new vax available in Sept./Oct. If it's going to stick around all the time, I wish the virus would morph into nothing more than a crappy cold, but as my Nana used to say, "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride."
