Thank you all again who kindly answered me regarding my Aspergillus problem and the dreadful swelling of my feet and ankles, I contacted my GP as some of you had advised and I had my water tablets changed from Furosemide to Bumetanide 1mg tablets,1tablet twice per day, I just hope that those water tablets work better than Furosemide as the Furosemide was not effective at all...I was wondering if anyone here has been on Bumetanide water tablets and if so did they help with fluid retention..? Thank you all again for taking the time to answer my problem all answers & advice has been much appreciated.. Primrose 123...xx

Hi, Primrose123. I haven't taken that water tablet, but I did have to try several before my GP found one that worked for me without side effects. So see how this one goes: if it works, great! If it doesn't, go back and ask for something different. All the best.
Thank you Ergendi for your most helpful reply, would you be kind enough to let me know which water tablets that you are now on Ergendi, as having no side effects is most definitely a bonus? I am now into day 3 of the Bumetanide water tablets & although very early days yet I find that my feet are not quite as tight & heavy as they were when I was on the Furosemide, but my feet & ankles are still badly swollen,I do feel that the Bumetanide may well be the right one for me, but of course I will have to finish the course & see if they take the swelling down,if not I will contact my GP again..Best wishes to you for the future Ergendi & wishing you good health much happiness always..Love, Primrose 123..x.
Oh yes, believe me it works. I take one when I get up and one at 2p.m. My friend has two in the morning but she lives in the loo till lunchtime. Apparently Bumetanide is better for the body's potassium absorption than Furosemide.
Many thanks Tykelady for your most helpful reply, I was delighted to know that Bumetanide works so well for you,& hopefully I will see good results too, I am just on day 3 of Bumetanide and although very early days yet I do feel the tightness & heaviness in my feet much lighter now, but the swelling has not gone down any , but of course I will have to finish the course before I see any results.. How long do you think it will take on Bumetanide before the swelling starts to go down Tykelady? Best wishes to you Tykelady & thanks again for all your sound & helpful advice. Love, Primrose 123..x
To be honest I'm still on it after almost two years. Apparently it's to prevent a build up of fluid which will. in turn, put extra pressure on the heart. However, I have had no side effects. Good luck.
Delighted that Bumetanide worked out so well for you Tykelady, I hope that I get good results too, I am on 1mg in the morning + 1mg at lunchtime of Bumetanide which I think is a pretty low dose compared to the Furosemide which was 40mg twice per day, but was absolutely not effective at all.. Would you mind if I asked you what mg of Bumetanide are you on Tykelady? Thank you again, you have been a massive help to me Tykelady!!! Primrose 123..x
