I have asthma /, bronchiectasis & adrenal insufficiency, I received both my Flu/ Covid jab a few days ago & I have now got flu symptoms & feeling breathless, I am on 15 mg per day of Hydrocortisone tablets + symbicort inhaler ( 2 puffs am + 2 puffs pm) I felt fine before receiving those jabs,... Has anyone else experienced those symptoms after having both jabs on same day? All replies greatly appreciated..Thank you .. Primrose 123...

Hi primrose, Pete was poorly last year when he had Covid and flu jabs together so this year he’s just had a covid jab with his flu jab due next Friday.

Hoping things improve for you very soon. Xxxx

Hi, there's always the awful possibility that you had already picked up flu or covid, I know tge flu vaccination takes two weeks to become effective (but don't know about covid though but it won't be immediate either). Had both mine at 2.30pm on Thursday, next morning woke up wheezy & chesty. I felt flu-like approximately 26 hours after having the two and that lasted 24 hours. I really thought I'd already picked up flu but fine the next day (today). My friend felt the same two or three days after her jabs & spent a day in bed - and she's never ill & has no ailments!

I drank plenty of fluids after jabs and was prepared to take paracetamol but rode it out. Good luck, hope it passes but if not you may be one of the unlucky ones 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

I had my Covid jab Tuesday and Wednesday morning had the usual flu symptoms I always get with it! I took paracetamol and felt better by Thursday. It’s a normal reaction to one or both the jabs. Hope you feel better soon.

My husband and I both had both covid and flu jabs (one in each arm) on Thursday morning, and we both feel fine, apart from the usual slightly tender arms. Just a bit tired yesterday and had the best sleep last night for a long time.

hello. I have adrenal insufficiency and asthma/COPD crossover. Symbicort same as you and only 10mg hydrocortisone daily. I consciously have the jabs separately so I’m totally sure which I’m reacting to if there is a reaction. Had the flu one and it was the best ever! Zero symptoms and no stiff arm. I feel very lucky this year. Not had covid one yet but usually ok. Always had Pfizer but looking like it might be different this year. I’m assuming everyone nationally gets the same flu jab but I don’t actually know. Guess it comes back to individuals’ immune systems in the end which is why we all have different experiences. Hope you soon feel back to your normal.

Hi Primrose 123 and they will tell you that it couldn't possibly be the flu or COVID jabs. Get well soon

Hi Primrose,

I also have asthma , bronchiectasis and adrenal insufficiency. I found out it's better with A.I. not to have both vaccinations together.

I had the two vaccines on different days, but I still had a bad reaction to the Covid vaccine. My G.P sent me to A&E with a suspected adrenal crisis. I didn't have the same reaction with the Influenza vaccine, just a sore arm, some aching and slight temperature. It did take a couple of days before I felt well again.

If you look in the packet insert for Hydrocortisone tablets, it does say to tell your doctor if you are having vaccinations. There wasn't a problem on the day in arranging to have them separately.

I now set aside some time to rest after a jab, and monitor my symptoms, which works for me.

I hope you feel better soon.

Take care,

Caro
