Frothy mucus
Hello Alice if this mucus is worrying you then please ask your GP or nurse, at least that way you will know what it is. Have a lovely evening and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx
Pete says he gets frothy mucus and it comes from the lungs. Not salty though. Please tell your GP what’s happening just to be sure. Thinking of you Alice. Xxx💜💕
Do you have a white tongue and gums? Could it be oral thrush from the antibiotics? I always have to take a diflucan tablet a couple of days after antibiotics. Or it could be the Omaprazole
My friend recently had this problem. She had a course of antibiotics for a chest infection, 3 weeks later she caught a cold which turned to a cough quickly...it went on for 2 weeks, she wasnt coughing up anything coloured, but then started to feel really unwell and was coughing up frothy stuff. Gp sent her to hospital and after various tests, she had another chest infection, so more antibiotics and now she is fine.
I suppose it could be from either,or both.i find after infection, inflammatory changes etc occur, and can cause me more mucous etc.i see u have bronchiectasis- do u do dedicated mucous clearance x2 a day? If nor read up on " active cycle of breathing"(acb). It's hard but bronchiectasis produces excess mucous which can get infected so worth doing.have a chat to respiratory nurse too as they may reassure u xx
Thank you pat when I was diagnosed with emphysema my consultant also said I had some brochiecstas I took some to be a little, but I suppose a lot or a lot means you have it ,I do clear my chest every morning ,the white froth has lessened a bit ,now when a cough I can smell infection so today I have started on another corse of doxycycline
I'm able to smell it too.im on doxy at mo, as my lungs started with infection, while on amloxicillin for sinus infect'n.i hope u soon feel the benefit.its worth having an evening lung clearance session too.it may well reduce daytime mucous burden xx
