I have been taking Spiriva Respimat powder inhaler for some months now. The problem I have is it makes me cough every time I inhale. If anyone else has had this problem and was able to overcome it I’d really appreciate your response & feedback.
Cheers.

I read back that you asked a similar question a year ago and had some useful replies then. If you are still having a problem I think it would be worth speaking to your doctor or nurse about it to see if an alternative inhaler would be better for you.
I didn't have a problem with spiriva when I was using it but once had a powder inhaler which made me cough whenever I used that making me think that very little of it actually got into my lungs. I spoke to my nurse about it and it was changed to another inhaler which didn't make me cough and which I felt I got some benefit from.
I'm afraid I can't help you. I've been using it for years without problems, but we all on this site know that different drugs suit some people better than others.
I take the liquid form of Spiriva Respimat, I did not like those small pellets as l could not tell if there was anything in them, so l asked my Consultant to switch over to the liquid format and found it much easier to use. So l have spiriva respimat with the added Fostair Inhaler and both work just fine.
Try and talk with you Respiratory Nurse and Consultant for them to make a change over.
