This is a larger canvas that I normally use, eg A3 or A4 or in between - Larger canvas allows more animals without being squashed up. Downside a loose weave.
Chose Sarengeti just before sundown as this was the best choice for a larger painting. Allows changes of Hue to make light changes more noticable.
This a " semi silhouette " painting wgich allows for more light to be used.

The placement of the meercats is perfect. They have a similar "view" as usual! Ern, this painting is truly magical. The contrast between the fragile leaves on the tree against the sky is just wonderful. But it's the shading of them land that is your master stroke; lush, and undulating with the bushy green. Once one zooms in one really sees your craft! Me thinks you should have your own gallery! 👋👋👋
That is amazing I absolutely love the blend of colours ,this is my favourite one of all your paintings so far Ern .thank you very much for sharing your talent with us all on here 🤩
Beautiful Ern. The sunsets in Africa are really like that, spectacular colours. Have you ever been there? My father was in the Royal Engineers and we had two postings to Africa when I was a child, Libya and Sierra Leone. I was old enough to remember Sierra Leon the clearest, best year of my childhood. Sunset was at sharp 7pm every night and we used to all go out on the veranda to watch it. xx
Thank you PaperQueen NoI have not bee to the serengeti or East Africa but have been to North Africa and Turkey had some really good sunsets, Sunsets in even N Afria and parts of Asia are as you say, puntual. xx
