Hi ,I've been using trimbow for two years before that fostair .Trimbow is not working very well anymore by one o'clock it has worn off for me ,I don't know if the reason being is that my fv1 has gone down ,as Ventolin has never done much for me I am wondering what is the next step in medication ,when at rest my (sorry dont no what to call)the device you put on finger reads 94 95 ,my last telephone consultation i explained to consultant that trimbow wasn't helping very much ,her answer was that I am on the best inhailer,I have another phone consultation on Monday I am also thinking of asking her if I can try ventolin through a nebuliser, when I was last in hospital four years now the Ventolin was given to me through nebulizer it worked well then ,I am willing to buy my own machine ,I would be interested to know has trimbow almost stopped working for others

I haven't had Trimbow so can't comment but because your consultant says it is the best doesn't necessarily mean that it is the best for you. Ask her what other options there are when you speak to her on Monday. An alternative to Ventolin is Bricanyl which seems to suit some people better but I have no personal experience of that either. It is usual to be treated with a nebuliser while in hospital but this is a less frequent method of treatment at home for COPD as far as I am aware. Again, discuss it with your consultant on Monday.

Thank you for common sense advice ,I will mention Bricanyl to her ,

Thank you for the compliment Alice. I hope that you make some progress tomorrow. I see that others have made some suggestions which may be worth asking about. Many told me that Spiriva was wonderful but it didn't help me at all. I have had a lot of different inhalers before staying with my current regime of ventolin, fostair (noted it didn't help you) and Braltus. There isn't one regime that suits everyone. Let us know how you get on. Best wishes Carole x

I had heard so many good things about Trimbow I was excited when my respiratory nurse took me off Fostair and put me on It. Sadly it didn’t do much at all for me which was a disappointment. The nurse put me on Trelegy which I find better. I also use Ventolin accuhalor200 .

In the eight years from diagnoses I've only tried three inhailers which includes advar, fostair ,which I believe is like trimbow which I use now

Hi Alice 70 I have used Symbicort and Bricanyl for many years and these inhalers suit me very well. Barbs x

Hi Alice, Trimbow did not suit me, I became more breathless on it. I was then given Trelegy, it was really good but my voice became very hoarse even though I gargled 2 or 3 times afterwards and my mouth became very sore plus mouth ulcers. I was then put back on Symbicort and Brailtus with no problems plus my usual Ventolin. xxx

Thanks Alice find Docs don’t know much about COPD was told from two that nebulisers are not any better than the blue inhaler yet when had to go to hospital with breathing put on one for 20 minutes and always makes breathing better on 2.5 mg just now lasts barley 10 minutes so maybe need a higher amount see what they say when get back to me had COPD for ten years and been in hospital a few times haven’t had inhalers changed much maybe about 3 or 4 take care.

It’s a double strength Ventolin with capsules in a circular casing . As it’s 200mgs only take one puff. It’s proper name is Ventolin Accuhaler. I found the Ventolin puffer useless but I’m ok with this version.

The hospital put me on Trimbow, last year, I don't find it helps me as much as it's supposed to, like you by early afternoon I feel I need to use it again. I also have Ventolin but use that more often now. I have had COPD for years now, and think I must have tried most inhalers that are available, they all seem to work for a while.

My next consultation with my specialist at the hospital has been changed yet again until November. I am still waiting for am appointment with my respiratory nurse. nothing seems to give me long time relief either. Good luck keep us posted on your progress.
