TRIMBOW the way forward

Afternoon my summer fried BLF friends. I hope you are all coping well with the heat. My nurse came round today and suggested I start using Trimbow pump twice daily in place of my nebuliser five times dailey. She said that a few of her patients are using it and are coping with their lung conditions a lot better because of it. My worry is, I have been using my nebuliser for many years and to stop and use something completely different concerns me a lot. All my nurses are brilliant and I trust what they say, I just feel like a child losing their comfort blanket I suppose. Have any of you used this pump? How dose it work for you? I can still use my nebuliser in emergency same as emergency pack. ✋️😎

Afternoon Stumpy 55. I started on Trimbow a week ago so it might be a bit early for me to say how well it will work especially as I ended up in hospital Sunday night with an infection (don't think it was related to change tho). I find it so simple to use, two doses a day compared with multiple single inhalers with different instructions. I have every faith it will be fine as long as there's no adverse reactions. I requested the change as i'd heard so many good things about it. Go with it and if you can't get on with it you can always go back to your old regime. I have Emphysema and Bronchiectasis. Hello rsmrsni, Thankyou for getting back to me. I too have Emphaseama and Bronchiectusis, and I'm stuck in my ways I know that. I will deffinately try it out and hope for the best. I hope you are feeling better now after your chest infection? Take care of yourself. ✋️😉xx

Thank you, feeling much better now the trusty doxycycline and magic steroids are kicking in. I don't always think its a case of being stuck in your ways, you get used to a certain routine and its hard to break it. Good luck and hope all works out for you. Rose x

Hi Sumpy! Will have to let you know.

I read good things about Trimbow and chatted with my Practice Pharmacist couple of days ago.

I commence using it today.

This is in place of Braltus-(once daily, am and Duoresp-(2x2 daily, am and pm. Ie four puffs).

Have spoken with my Respiratory Nurse Pracitioner and she’s all in favour although it seems she had not proscribed it herself to anyone (?) but knew that there are cases where two drugs in combination work symbiotically to improve their effectiveness.

As I say, watch this space!

Thanks Ian, yes my nurse was very encouraging about Trimbow, and said just give it a go, see how you get on with it and hopefully it will work for you. She's brilliant and makes me feel that I'm not being pressured in any way. You need to feel that you have a choice. I must say, all my medical team are good, I'm lucky in that respect. I have been issued with Trimbow.

Day four: not too sure it’s doing much good.

Morning Five:- have used the spacer (that I use with Sabutamol rescue inhaler). Waiting to see, but believe that this must deliver the drugs more efficiently than without.

Any opinion, please?

Hello Kandi2, today I received my new Trimbow, trouble is I have chest infection so being on rescue pack will delay using trimbow for a week. A bit wary of it, but will see how I get on. Thankyou for your response Kandi2, I'le let you know how I get on with it. Take care ✋️😉x

Trimbow is a three drug combination.

Here's The big words: beclometasone dipropionate / formoterol fumarate dihydrate and glycopyrronium, NOW I`M BREATHLESS!!

I was prescribed it by the specialist COPD nurse at hospital.

I do feel better with it but i still get breathless on exertion and yes, I still use nebuliser when thing get a bit scary.

Anything that may be new and helpful is always worth a go....

Hello tomc, thanks for your help. Like you if I get very breathless I will use my nebuliser on occasion if necessary. Your so right about giving it a go even though if feels scary being new. I've been on my nebuliser for years now and it's like a child being told not to use the comfort blanket any more. Still onwards and upwards so they say . Take care of yourself ✋️😎xx

I have been on Trimbo a few months I cant see much improvement but is easier only having to take one rather than multiple inhalers im a bit sceptical has im thinking it is just to save money and not to improve our lungs lol xx

Thankyou shadow4me, we can only try can't we, at the end of the day what works for one, isn't good for all. I haven't got it yet, should be here in couple of days along with a spacer. Still it's good to have back up my nebuliser, the nurse said I can use that as well when in trouble. Take care of yourself ✋️😉xx

I use mine with an Aero Chamber, it slots in, as I am useless without it 😔 so get the proper dosage. I have been using Trimbow since July and my breathing has improved. I would try it. Ask your nurse about using it with an Aero Chamber as it is easy to use. Good luck. We are all a bit scared of trying something new but no pain no gain, so to speak. 😀😀

HI Stumpy55.... I am wondering how you have been getting on with Trimbow? I've been given it and am trying to pluck up the courage to actually use it after reading some negative comments as well as positive ones. I would like to hear how it is for you if that's not being too nosey? Rgds 😀

Like ive said it works for people different i was put on it when i came out of hosiptal fist time ever and ive never been the same i stoped it it gave me the shakes and they didnt go away
