COPD... Pulmicort/Symbicort for out of breath issues only?

Hi All,

I think after trying a few different inhalers, I may try pulmicort or symbicort as this doesn't seem to cause people issues?

If possible I'm fine with ventolin as I know that, so may just get the budesonide on its own (pulmicort?) rather then get symbicort as thats got formoteral in, which I believe acts the same as a reliever which isn't needed? As got ventolin is that right?

I just need something for when I get breathless after exertion? Which is a real nightmare as can't really do chores or anything?

So not sure what is causing this and why or what is best for it?

Or if steroids are needed for this and would address this issue? I don't really have mucus or a cough or anything else?

Thoughts please?

Thanks again

As I said in a reply to one of your earlier posts, it can take time to find an inhaler that works but I think that you need to discuss this with your doctor or nurse.

Breathlessness is something we have to learn to live with, a relived inhaler may help and breathing technique to control breathing when breathless can help. (Plenty of info on the internet about diaphragm breathing). Doing chores and anything can become a nightmare, I find it’s a case of trying different ways to tackle any task that makes it less of a struggle.

I used spiriva and smbicort and found them quite good. However my local paramedic suggested Telegy. Used only once a day it had done an excellent job. and I would recommend it.John
