I am mortified to find that my NFOP Health insurance for members is now excluding lung conditions. Not Cancer, heart disease, Diabetes or most other things, only lung conditions! I have COPD and my holidays abroad are really important to me.
Can anyone recommend a good insurance company for people with lung and other chronic conditions?
Many thanks

Hi Kristen. I've spent the whole afternoon trying to get a quote for annual holiday travel insurance. Filled so many forms in my head is spinning. Long story short my latest quote is £1600 last year I paid £756. I declared copd last year so why the increase? Any help would be appreciated. Jane
Many thanks. As the information is disparate, would it be a good idea to compile a directory of 'lung friendly' travel insurers? Research is so time-consuming
Hi, looking for travel insurance is certainly very time-consuming isn’t it! I found Goodtogo Insurance the best price for me. I looked at various comparison sites and my insurance range from £670 to over £2000! Goodtogo came out the cheapest for what I needed which was an annual insurance including US and cruise cover.i hope this helps.
I am so glad I saw your post about NFOP,we had booked a cruise last September for April this year. When we booked it all pre existing medical conditions were automatically covered as long as not terminal. My husband has interstitial lung disease and now needs Oxygen. We have to cancel the cruise and are now hoping that the insurance will pay up .
No,he has other conditions and at 78 I don't think he would get cover anyway. He retired at 55,and we have travelled the world since then .We had five cruises last year, one because we had finally got insurance, another because we wanted to see St Petersburg again, the third to Iceland for my birthday ,then one for our wedding anniversary and finally one for his birthday. We never got off the ship as even then he couldn't walk far. I was so pleased to see your message because I didn't know anything about it.We are now trying to claim on the current insurance .
Thanks Kristen, now waiting for the Oxygen assessment on the 8th March, and then the consultant on the 2nd April.Still waiting for the medical claim form to be completed by the GP.At the moment we hope to get over £1300 back but nothing's certain.
