Hoping to travel to Canada in July for a month, for our sons wedding. Already had Bronchiectasis & other issues but after the vaccinations for covid heart started playing up.Consultant diagnosed angina, written up on health record. As a consequence the travel insurance quotes I’m getting are outrageous. Can anyone please suggest a reasonable insurance option?

I think you need to shop around. I haven't tried to go abroad since lock down, but I got a reasonable quote from Saga last year for a trip to Scotland.

Good luck in finding the insurance. It's so important to have proper cover now, the expenses in getting ill or covid, hospital treatment and perhaps being repatriated would be horrendous. I've no idea about the Canadian health system but I think we all know that in America the costs of healthcare would astronomical.

Hi, Lfcpremier, try Staysure. I normally use AllClear but this year Staysure is cheaper. Check you are getting the same cover as usual though. good luck, Maximonkey

We have some links on the travel information pages on our website you may find useful and also the insurance section of Money Saving Expert might be worth a read.

I used the post office in October there and it wasn’t too bad. The prices for worldwide insurance (even without USA) are outrageous. However the quality of the cover and the company’s record on settling claims are more important than the price. You can check on their claim settling online.

I have always found Allclear good in the past . But there are a few others who specialise in policies aimed at those with health issue but beware some of them are highly expensive with exclusions so do take care and read the contract details carefully. If not already tried do try the links Debbie offered on this post.

Thanks all for your replies. Much appreciated! 💕All clear & Stay sure seem favourite. I'm sure the heart problems were caused by the jabs so hoping the consultant will agree I'm better now. 🤞Have been fine for several months now. X
