We have been trying to get insurance for a cruise, but its either thousands of pounds or they will not cover at all. We finally did no medical cover with Bupa worldwide but they could still come back and refuse the cover even though pre-existing conditions not covered. My husband is now having palliative care because there is nothing more they can do except manage symptoms. He is perfectly fine to have a holiday and could live for years as he is but this seems to fall on deaf ears! Have anyone else managed to obtain cover without paying thousands of pounds?

Holiday Insurance blues!
Hi this has been discussed loads of times here so have a look at previous posts. I hope you manage to get cover. x
From what you say, your husband is uninsurable. I do sympathise, and I am in the same situation. Don't even think of travelling uninsured - the cost of, for example, a medical air ambulance would be astronomical. Come to terms with the situation and have a luxurious holiday in the U.K.?
I might be out of order in my reply. Bit if it was me, I would just go on holiday with the cheapest insurance, on a cruise they have doctors and just have a fab time. But that is just me, you only live once, you may as well enjoy it x
Hello caz-stoke, we found ourselves in the same situation as yourselves. We are going away on a 28 day cruise this weekend and finally managed to get cruise insurance at a price we could afford through a company called All Clear. They are not cheap but 4 or 5 times cheaper than all the other companies we looked at.
Hi I’ve found fish insurance really cheap. I used them a couple of years ago they cater for disabled people for all sorts of things. You need to tell them all your medication and why your taking them and if you’ve been admitted to hospital within the last 12 months of so why. Fishinsurance.co.uk Hope they can help you. Good luck try and have a fab cruise Wendy xx

Sadly most companies grab on anything to charge you more, age plays a part in cost too and the drugs you take. I heard there was a company that offers insurance to people with serious illness but it probably is one you have tried that is expensive. With palliative care , the insurance underwriters see it as a high risk factor of an incidence on holiday. Many companies wont let people travel without insurance even in this country nowadays, seem to forget that insurance is to cover the unexpected not the expected that does not happen. If that makes any sense Keep shopping you might find one thjats not too extreme in price. Good Luck
I get reasonable cover for my holidays from m&s , I get the usual questions, have I been in hospital in the last 12months and how much medication am I on or how many chest infections I've had but I'm lucky apart from my copd I'm healthy , lol
Actually I also got covered reasonably with m&s and I have multiple health issues to declare
