Hi

Should be no problem as it’s inhalation rather than ingestion

I nearly always do mine first thing in the morning. As Stone says, it's going into your lungs, not your stomach.

I always use my inhalers in the morning before I eat. No problems in 15 years.

Hi Picasso - If you're feeling breathless when you wake up, I'd suggest you take your salbutamol inhaler first, then just rest for 10 minutes or so to give it time to open your airways a little, before taking the Seebri inhaler.

I hope you find taking your inhalers first thing improves your breathlessness and you can then enjoy your breakfast. :)

Thanks for the advice.I will take the Salbutamol first since it works quicker on me than the Seebri Breezhaler. Then I will take the Seebri after my breakfast.

Most certainly take your inhalers before eating. You will be surprised at just how many muscles are used in the act of chewing. Eating a meal, to me, is like walking a mile.

Thanks for the reply. It has given me a lot of confidence with all the replies I have had.

I take mine on an empty stomach. however if you are concerned you could try a glass of milk befor your inhalers, it will act like food in your stomach

I would try that but I read that dairy products cause mucus so I drink as little milk as possible.Thats one of the biggest problems I have with my COPD,trying to get mucus up.Thanks for your reply.

This is true for some people. You could try non dairy milk but as so many on hear are sayin inhalers on a empty stomick dont seem to be a problem

Thanks for the reply.I use semi skimmed milk so maybe that would be ok.

I also used to think that dairy products causes more phlegm but I have been told from a Pulmonary Rehab that this in fact is not correct. Google will also agree with me, lol!! All the very best.

I'm glad you found it made a difference. I wish our GPs and consultants would be more specific sometimes about when is best to take the medicines they prescribe. Even reading the leaflets that come with the meds is not always as helpful as it could be, although those leaflets are getting longer and longer! :)

Thanks for the advice. As I replied to asthatim above,I got no advice whatsoever from my Dr.,just a prescription for my inhalers. The only knowledge I have about COPD is from this forum and the NHS site.

Hi there. I saw this in the morning but only now got chance to write.

You have been given sound advice so far and the main thing is the medication is going into your lungs, not your stomach.

With good wishes

Just my opinion not a fact but as my dr told me whenever you inhale whether it be a cigarette or inhaler your body thinks food so the acid produced to break down food starts to do its job. There fore unless your dr said on an empty stomach I keep either crackers or animal cookies anything like that beside my bed takes no effort to eat a few then use your inhaler. Just less stress on your tummy😁

Thanks for your reply.I like custard creams so I will take a couple of them first thing in the morning then take my inhaler.I am grateful for the info since I also have a sensitive stomach and it doesn't take much to upset it.Thanks again.
