Lung function test

Hi all, had my lung function test yesterday Fev1 80% mild copd, still have one test to go CT scan of my throat, because my voice keeps changing. Once that has been completed I will get an appointment to discuss my medication and care plan.

80% is counted as virtually normal so do your best not to get any worse.

That's what I mean. You're not far off normal so hopefully you'll stay the same.

if you smoke stop,eat well,regular exercise, and you,ll be up at 85% in no time, good luck

Hi, I was diagnosed 4 years ago, Bullous Emphysema classed as very mild with a FEV1 of 81%, my right lung is very bad at the top and side and some on the left lung. I stopped smoking when I was diagnosed, im on no medication and I'm doing alright. Stop SMOKING asap to get the full life rewards, it was a wake up call for me, a call which I take very serious. Thanks David, I dont smoke anyway but have in the past, I have my wife looking after me and have a good diet, yes its a real wake up call. All the best. T

what is FEV1 please? I have been diagnosed with mild COPD but only heard of FEV1 on here

Thank you very informative, next time I go to the Docs for a lung function test I'll what my FEV is x
