Recent admission and now what

My asthma has been out of control for the past few weeks, I think mainly due to hay fever. Then I got covid, got antivirals and felt mostly ok. After 6 days tested negative and started a course of steroids for 5days to calm my chest down as it was even less happy. I felt great again

3days after stopping my chest flared up again so my gp put me on 7days of steroids and antibiotics despite this I was admitted 5 days on back to back nebs and to complete the 7 days course of steroids. Whilst in hospital they discovered I had covid again (despite having 6 days of testing negative after my previous positive)

Now I’m home, last lot of steroids was taken on Monday. Starting to feel chesty, coughing, tightness, wheeze etc. i rang my chest team at the hospital and not heard back. My gp surgery text me to say they’ve booked a review for next week. Just kind of feel lost in the system, with no idea of what to do to stop my chest going off again,

*On biologics, fostair, qvar, fexo, carbocisteine, and montelukast.

Hi LottiReally sorry to hear you’ve been so unwell. You’ve not had it easy have you? I’m hoping you’ve heard back from the hospital team by now, if not I would definitely try & get an urgent gp appointment tomorrow. I hope you feel better soon x

Does your consultant have a same day appointment slot?

Fingers crossed!

My local consultant does same day emergency appointments for things like this, don't think my tertiary care does though.
