Anyone benefiting from long-term daily Antihistamines as far as 'Asthma' is concerned? Are you using (have you tried) Fexofenadine - if so - what's your opinion, side-effects etc
As usual, thanks in advance for Comments / Thoughts, in case I don't manage to respond .

I am on long term fexofenadine. It helps alongside may other medications. No major side effects other than being really tired for the first week or so of being on it. Was fine once I was used to it. X
I'm on it but for hayfever. I don't have allergic asthma but I do have hayfever, which makes very little sense to me, but the medical literature I have read tells me that actually it is possible to be atopic and have non-allergic asthma! My cons is still suspicious of the hayfever lol but I definitely find fexofenadine plus flixonase from about Feb into autumn helps my nose/eyes. I thought it helped with asthma too but suspect not, now I know more about my asthma.
Don't remember if I had any side effects at first but it's fine now.
I was put on fexofenidine for urticaria. When I have urticaria I also get asthma symptoms along with it. I have been on it now for a couple of years and don't seem to get side effects. I feel it is beneficial in terms of my overall allergies and asthma.
My understanding is that there is very little evidence for antihistamines in asthma. If you have a 2nd condition like rhinitis/ hay fever or urticaria then it may help
I’m on it to try and control the allergic part of my asthma. Works relatively well for me with minimal of any side effects. I got upped from 120mg to 180mg when it wasn’t really helping anymore and didn’t have any issues and it seems to help so...
