Hi everyone,
I’m new to this site or forum. I’m a 51 year old female, I’ve had JRA (juvenile rheumatoid arthritis) since I was 8 yrs old. I thought when I was younger that it was the dark meat from the turkey at thanksgiving that caused it. Lol I had rheumatic fever at the start of mine with swollen feet and hands, this was 1978. A lot of diagnosis and treatments have improved since than. I took brayer aspirin for starters, predisone, gold shotz, plaquenill, methotrexate, calcium tablets, iron, folic acid, humira, embrel..so far humira and 5mg predisone and of course ibuprofen works for me. I have 3 children said I couldn’t any and I would be in a wheel chair by the age of 30. Here I am walking and working, I lift boxes 50lbs maybe 5-6 boxes 3x’s a week. I have arthritis throughout my body head to toe. A family friend always says idk how she does it. 1) keep moving 2) keep ur self relax if u get stressed or depressed it’s worse, I know easier said than done 3) do what u gotta do, take ur mind of it, again easier said than done 4) talk to others to vent, it helps 5) eat healthy. Yes I still have flare ups, they usually last a week. If u need to talk I’ll listen.
