After the Pacemaker scenario and everything associated with this on top and in my view a worse the conditition to have ",Severe Osteo Arthiritis", of the right hip..not eligble for hiptransplant due to weight, I stopped smoking after ,50 years. But whats troubling me is I can hardly walk, I need two crutches bearing part of my weight, both legs are killing me, taking oramorph and 60mg SRT every 12 hours, and become a recluse...I cant go shopping as 25 yards on crutches is painfull and exhausting, am on warfarin, bloodpressure, and hart tablets.

I rather wait in the car than go out with my wife and daughter, and am a sort of taxi, I know it is of my own choice, but as it is painfull to walk..what pleasure is there to go to events or even a restaurant in pain, sit and eat in pain bring a cushion, and pay 33.3 % extra for the privelage...

This all and everything else makes me severely depressed on top of it..

I am wondering if anyone else can see and has experienced my problems..

Hi. The pain must be v bad. However, here are your priorities.

1. Loose weight. Fasting is considered ok. My brother in law ( a retired Dr)

fasts one day a week. He does drink water that day. The weight has fallen off

him.

2. A’s you loose weight, you will become more flexible, try some light floor

exercises or you can move sitting in a chair, arms & legs.

3. Eat lots fresh veg. Cut out potatoes, white bread, processed meats, eat more

fish.

4. Get the nurse at your surgery to do a blood tests looking at Inflamation

markers, etc. (your GP will order this blood test, which will be sent to

local hospital path lab). Results come back within 3 days to surgery. You

are entitled to have a copy, after the surgery nurse has explained the results.

5. Try & keep off opiates (co-codimal etc).

All above will take the strain off your heart, making life easier for you,

enabling you to move more.

I hope you succeed & I wish you well.

Ps. Keep off alcohol, as this interferes with any medication you are taking.

Best Wishes
