I have been complaining with pain my hips the bottom of my back , down my legs and into my feet. after 5 years of pain and been told that it was because of my spinal arthritis it was this causing me all the pain. I have now been told I have sclerotic foci 1 in my right ischium and another in my left femoral. does anybody know what they are, and what they are doing there. I now have arthritis in 21 discs, in both hands , hips, knees . they have just decided to test me for rheumatoid arthritis. I have orthapedics oncologists 4th febuaury appointment . I don't know what to expect or been told what to expect either . could somebody possibly put my mind at ease please

With arthritic changes to 21 discs that is the most likely cause of your pain, and what you describe is typical of arthritis in lower back region in lumbar vertebrae.

So it's most likely that these sclerotic foci are completely incidental and benign. It just means that on x-ray/scan they saw two areas where the bone density had changed - one in your hip and one at the top of your leg. I imagine that they are sending you to the orthopedic oncologist just to be completely sure. Especially if you weren't told that they suspected anything bad.
