Following up on my constant pain after tkr.

I've just received a letter from my consultant from wrightington hospital regarding my ongoing severe pain after tkr 18 months ago. It seems it's highly unlikely that it's down to the allergic reaction to the nickel in the cobalt. Even though I AM allergic to nickel. It's more likely as it's complex regional pain syndrome. I looked up this condition and was shocked to see the patronising solutions to the pain. ie.... Physcology. Cognitive behavioural therapy. Even antidepressants. Rehabilitation although is very effective in lots of ways WILL NOT take this pain away. I am in agony with every step i take. And dread anyone stopping me in the street to say hello and chat as i can't stand still! It's so severe standing i just feel I'm about to collapse. If anyone has crps. And has come through it with treatment please can you let me know.

no answer for you I'm afraid just to let you know that I am so sorry for your plight. I do know what it's like to have to stop and talk to people even when you've told them that you an't stand still for long as it's so painful, especially when you have to start to walk away at the end but unless someone has experienced this they have no idea. Hope you do find a solution for your pain very soon. It makes you feel quite isolated too doesn't it?
