What medication do you get for your panic ... - Anxiety Support
What medication do you get for your panic attacks/anxiety and do you feel it has helped?
I took Sertraline for 5 years and they really helped. i think they stopped working a year ago and I switched to Escitropalm and they seem to be working well. i still have my moments though and tablets cant provide the whole answer.
I have been prescribed monthly diazepam and propanolol. the propanolol don't really do much for me any more when i have a full on panic attack. i am allowed to take up to 6 a day. i have tried two different anti depressants, both made me worse. yet they used to work for me when suffered from post natal. have been prescribed another anti depressant but scared to touch them as it has been a constant nightmare going from one medication to another. i know it takes time to find the right medication that suits each individual.
yes i agree, tablets are not the only answer, i have finally started getting help which will include the mental health team (again as they helped me t recover from post natal).
How long have you been anxious. I would take it one day at a time. The antidepressants can be very on you but depends on your system I would say the currentbmeds I am taking are not too harsh. They are a newer version of citropalm and are called escitropalm or cipralex.
hi sara,I take xanax o.5mg 3 times daily, also rescue remedy,I dont take antidepressants,as they scare me with their side effects,CBT is really helpful,I've been doing this for nearly a year. now everyone is different,my sister swears by sertraline, they have helped her,but I cant take them,so its really trial and error,to find out what helps YOU.god bless xxxxx
