Hi. mim. I consider myself almost recovered but last night I had a dose of the old palps (as I call them). Some of it was indigestion (yes, that can do it) and some nerves. Don't ask me why. I have no idea neither am I going to try and find out. I just say (as std says) Oh well, you are back. Good luck, and get on with what I am doing. I no longer fasten on to it. This is the only way to me. Acceptance. Palpitations are no more than irregular heartbeats caused by the upset nervous system. When we are anxious the electrical discharge from the brain to the heart becomes erratic hence the palps. Nothing whatever to worry about. It will come and go because you keep turning the light on and off. See what I mean? Bear up mim. You have had this before and you are still talking to us and very nice too. Bless you. jonathan.

(By the way, I have had mine for nearly thirty odd years so you may take comfort in that).

Your so sweet almost made me cry you guys are the only ones I really talk to much esp this stuff bless you for always being there for so many of us. By the way I purchased a book by weekes is she good an do you think it will help xxxxx

in reply to

Yes, but it does mean application. Acceptance is not easy because it goes against our natural instinct which is to fight and struggle with the problem. Trying to fight it off just makes it worse. Give the book a go. If it is not for you, well, you will have tried. Best wishes. jonathan.

i have them all the time and they do make me panicky but then i forget about it, Jonathan's reply is to the point, indigestion plays a main role and how stressed you are. remember there are nerves in your stomach as well which are very sensitive, it is like second brain!!

big hug and God bless

rouri. As you say, it is not generally recognised but the medics say that the solar plexus, the centre of nerves in our middle, has the same qualities as brain cells. That is why, when we get upset, we feel it in our middle. Tight stomach muscles etc. Also, a good punch in the solar plexus can put you out for the count!! (A good idea at times perhaps!!!). Regards. jonathan.
