Does cipralex have less side effects than Citalopram,Has anybody changed from one to the other?

Hi

I was on citalopram for over a year . The side effects I had we're sore head migraine feeling sick the shakes no appetite and vivid dreams this lasted about 2 weeks. I did ok on these tablets but felt after a while that they were not helping. I now have changed to cipralex u felt a bit of nausea and a sore head but after 3 days I had no symptoms. I've only been on the tablets 2 weeks so its early days with them the doctor said it takes 6 weeks before I will feel any benefit. I will say take your tablets as I put them off for ages as I didn't want to take them because of the side effects and my anxiety/panic/depression got really bad.

Hi Dianne, thanks for the information. I went to the docs yesterday regarding the citalopram not working,I was put on 40mg in July & was anxiety & depression free for a couple of months but now I get started awake & my stomach is in knots & then I am anxious all day. Anyway the doc said to cut down to 30mg as she thinks the 40mg is too much for me and can cause a return to anxiety,I mentioned your answer & she said if nothing improves in a couple of weeks she will change the meds to cipralex. I am keeping everything crossed that either the Citalopram or Cipralex do the trick

I was on citalopram for few years from 20 to 40 mg till one day it wasn't t working anymore.I swap to cipralex and now I m much better.off course I m still anxious but 10 times better
