Hi, stress and Anxiety can bring on quite real pain in the body. It would be a good idea to see advice from your Doctor to rule out any physical problems you might have. Then if there are none it's a case of calming yourself mentally and seeing if the pain and tightness you have eases. I suffered for many years with stomach, back and chest pains. My advice would be to have a lay down, concentrate on your breathing, breath slowly long and deep. In through the nose until your chest is full then slowly let the air out. Do this 10-20 times as slowly as possible, don't think about your pain, concentrate on your breathing. Then try to focus your mind on something that you like, walking in the woods, laying on an inflatable in the sea.... sex! whatever can distract your mind.

Hi Sal.

The tight and painful chest was the main symptom for me during my attacks. If you experience a tight and achy chest a few days after an attack, this could be muscle strain. I had pain and tightness for around 4 days after my first attack and it was horrible, it made me feel worse, but it did eventually wear off.

As Tony said it's best to get it checked out and the deep breathing techniques do really help.
