running and anxiety

As a long-term sufferer of agoraphobia, I have tried many different treatment approaches including medication and a range of psychological therapies. I have to say that the thing that has really helped has been taking up running as not only am I now the fittest that I have ever been but I really do find that the anxiety is now more under control.

This weekend I ran the Great Manchester Run which is a 10k race in 55 minutes in order to raise funds for Anxiety UK. So far I have raised just over £75 but I'd really like to get to £100. If you'd like to help me reach my target, you can make a donation at: bmycharity.com/nickylidbetter

Many thanks.

Happy running
