Citalopram and Jaw issues

I was put onto citalopram in January this year for health anxiety, having previously had sertralinr and experiencing every side effect under the sun. Within a few days I noticed I had severe jaw pain, and was clenching my teeth quite a lot and it was hard to fully relax my face. I persevered because the tablets did make me feel better, but my jaw got consistently worse until in October it locked completely and I can now only open my mouth half as far. The doctor said this would ease off after coming off citalopram but it's now been almost 6 weeks and I've had no improvement in my jaw. This was never an issue before taking citalopram. Just wondering if anyone has experienced similar and what happened, or has any tips or tricks to sort my jaw out. Doctor wants me to take another antidepressant for the jaw pain but I am a bit reluctant. Thanks!

one thing is to go to a dentist and ask for a night guard. That way your grinding is a lot harder to do. Less chance of damaging teeth too. Have you tried the sister escitalopram? Citalopram hs been quite helpful for me but it stopped working h after a while. I still have grinding issues, and it now affects my neck and shoulders. Ask your doctor for a referral to PT and osteopathy. PT with strengthen muscles around it and osteopathy is a mix between chiropractic therapy and pt. They help me with my trigger points in my neck and shoulders. Try massaging your jaw until you can get in.
