faithful_j, I hear you....but many will say, I tried that and it didn't work. Besides

accepting that anxiety are lies our brain tells us, we must believe in ourselves and

in the power of mind over matter. It took me years to find myself once again but

worth every minute. Life is Amazing. Wishing you well :) xx

Just because something worked for you doesn't mean it will work for others and it depends on how deep seated anxiety may be and what triggers it. I am 77 and have had severe bouts of anxiety for most of my life. I more or less ignore the physical anxiety symptoms routinely nowadays and have done so for years but I still have very severe physical symptoms in social situations and other situations which create stress. The only treatment for me is medication or drinking alcohol, but I realised a long time ago these are not desirable things to do. Many sufferers just have to accept that they will continue to suffer.

Very true, and worth remembering otherwise an inability to control one's anxiety creates a greater anxiety about one's inability to control one's anxiety. I am 68. I used alcohol, in increasing volumes, to cope with my anxiety; and then drugs, again in increasing "doses". The result was that I lost everything: my home; my job; my career; my pension; my car; my savings; my partner; my relationships with my son, my Mum and my Dad; my self respect; my sanity. So I am hugely happy to read of any way possible to control anxiety in safer ways. I no longer drink; have a life without alcohol and drugs in it. But, that monster of anxiety remains on my back to this day and I have not fulfilled a meaningful life as a result but rather had a life wasted which I regret

yeah...about that....Work in a prison for 26 years.....don't worry about whether or not you will get assaulted at work because you "looked" at someone wrong....don't worry about being exposed to fentanyl because someone decided to smuggle it in in an attempt to make easy money...don't worry about whether or not the officer you are working beside is the one supplying the fentanyl you you just found in a cell search because the inmate was intoxicated. Did you give the naloxone in time....I can't help but worry about those things....I can't help but to have my anxiety heightened because of what I deal with....
