Sertraline is very common and a lot of people use it. As far as side effects each person is different and no 2 people react the same way. This is definitely a conversation to have with your prescriber. They can probably answer your questions better. It it makes you feel better Zoloft has been around for a very very long time and has a history of being effective.

I’ve taken Sertraline for years and can’t remember any side effects. It’s the best med for me it works great. Many people take it. If you just started it give it a chance unless your side effects are bad. Good Luck.

it does take awhile to get use to it. I never had those symptoms but everyone’s different. If it continues maybe it’s not for you.

I was on it for a number of years without it really helping me and the only side affect I had was mild sexual delayed climax.

been on it in total for about 6-7 weeks. Started at 25 mg, then 50 mg then 75 mg now 100 mg for 6 days. Dreadful side effects at start but luckily psychiatrist and G P let me use diazepam until I’m settled. Have good days and bad but getting there very slowly! This group helps but I have been through hell!!! It takes time to work which is hard to accept!

what side effects did you have? How long did it last pls

nausea! For many weeks and still get it. However Ive been told that may be more caused by my anxiety rather than drug. Also insomnia but doctor has given me antihistamine to take every night to ensure sleep. Few people get it as bad as me!

ah yes loss of appetite too! It takes a long time to work - you need to stick it out which is hard.

I used to take it for PTSD, depression and anxiety. I was having night sweats, tremors, and after about a month I had a complete breakdown alone in an airport. I don't know how else to describe it but I felt like I was losing my mind. It was very scary for me. As everyone has mentioned, medication is different for everyone. I would highly recommend keeping a journal of how you're feeling so you know for yourself.

I hope you’re doing okay on sertraline. The side effects can last a few weeks from when you started it. It gave me an upset stomach and made my anxiety worse at first. I’ve been on it for about 3 months now and it’s given me my life back. Good luck

what dose did you start on?

I started on 50mg, apparently it’s the lowest treatment dose. I’ve stayed on 50mg but have toyed with asking for an increase but so far avoided that. My hubby says he can definitely see it’s had an improvement on me and I agree.

Hi, I've been on Citalopram for years but they stopped working so I am going to switch to Sertraline. I'm very scared to swap over as my anxiety is non stop lately. Hope they help you long term. Let us know how you get on. Hope the side effects are ok. When I started Citalopram years ago I had no side effects but because my anxiety is sooo bad I can't cope with any side effects just yet so I'm holding off swapping over.

I'm on sertriline for my severe anxiety and i think it helps but i have been on them for a long time. Firstable there were side effects
