Zoloft and Wine?

Zoloft and wine. I will have been on Zoloft for 8 weeks this Friday. It has helped some and made things manageable most days. I have not drank in 8 weeks. Before I would have 2-3 glasses of wine a week. One each weekend night of the weekend. I have read to stay away from alcohol on zoloft. My wife has been on 100mg for three years and drinks 4 nights a week. She said she is fine. Is it ok to go back to drinking?????

Maybe consult your Doctor I know your not suppose to drink while on meds.

I was on Zoloft for over 10 years and I drank all the time on it. The reason they say to avoid it is because it MIGHT make you more drunk, but I never noticed that. I even called a Pharmacist to ask. I now take Cymbalta and was worried about drinking myself.

I used to take Zoloft and now Lexapro and have an occasional glass of wine. Not a lot but at least once or twice per month. The only thing I have an issue with is that it makes me feel drunk faster. Even after just 1 glass, I get quite dizzy and drowsy. Definitely speak with your doctor or psychiatrist (whomever prescribed it) first and hear out their advice. That's what I did.

I've been on lexapro for 8 months, and drink 3-4 nights a week. no issues and i'm feeling great! Guess we are all different.
