Old aged people , and bad dreams!

Has someone who is old now (long life) ever got a dream in childhood of a demon threatening (telling) them that they will not live long and die young?

Anxiety is your mind and body's response to threats of which dying is our biggest one as humans. It's our built-in safety mechanism and only becomes a problem when you start believing the anxious thoughts which cause the physical symptoms and response.

A common fear of anxiety sufferers no matter what the age, is that they are going to die. But the paradox is that the anxiety is there to keep you safe and keep you from dying.

Your dream is nothing more than your mind processing your anxious thoughts at that time.

The key to recovery from anxiety disorder is to understand the role of anxiety and to never believe the anxious thoughts and allow and accept the physical sensations.

I didn't have your specific dream because I didn't grow up in exactly the same circumstances as you. I grew up in a fundamental christian household and had dreams of burning alive in hell, basically the same dream as yours just different circumstances.

I should add that I am an "old person" who had anxiety and bad dreams for years and have fully recovered. With commitment and persistence recovery is definitely possible.
