Paxil to Lexapro

I was taking paxil for the last 4 years. Hard to believe it has been that long. I began to have a very tough time w anxiety and even more panic attacks to the point where I was having disabling panic attacks several times a week. The paxil did help, but I since have had another flare up of these panic attacks , and an issue with numbness where at times I feel outside my body ( a lot of depersonalization and derealization often resulting in full on panic. ) Weight gain has been an issue for me as well although I can't contribute that to the paxil alone. My doctor suggested that I try lexapro to address the numbness and side effects paxil could have. It has been a month of cross tapering and finally day one of only lexapro with an increase of 10mg. Has anyone else switched from paxil to lexapro? What was your experience? So far I feel tired and drained of energy.

I took Paxil years ago. It made me so tired. I was on Zoloft. Which was great. Then my therapist thought lexapro would work better. Nope didn’t do a thing. Went back to Zoloft which works great for me. Best of luck.
