Covid19: The government what's to keep... - Anxiety Support
Covid19
hi sorry to hear that its difficult enough hoping our kids are safe at school without disgusting spitting if this was outside and aimed at an adult it would be looked at much more serious in the current circumstances.the school will hopefully take a hardened view with it hope your son is ok.
Hello
I feel for you , I do not think if we are in Lock down Schools should be kept open and I am so glad I do not have children School age anymore as I would be losing it to !
I would report what happened at School to your Son and let it be known what some children are doing and how serious this could potentially be
A lot of parents are feeling as angry as you about it , so you are not on your own , stay strong
Take Care x
Hi. That's terrible regarding your son, I hope the school will be taking that seriously.
However, i don't agree schools should be closed again at this point. transmission in children under 16 is low. If you look at the figures the amount of testing in the younger age groups increased significantly but the number of positive tests remained static. Therefore the risk of them catching it is slim.
I am a social worker and in my opinion it is vital that schools remain open, for the health, wellbeing and education of our children - while transmission stays low of course.
It also allows for people who may have had childcare arrangements with grandparents to continue working without worrying about them catching it.
I think everyone has their own view on it (none of which are wrong I don't think, it's finely balanced in terms of pros and cons!)
I hope your son is OK x
Being what I hope is an isolated incident, the risk is probably no greater than catching anything else off the spitter because your son’s immune system would deal with it well, which is why COVID-19 isn’t so much of a problem for children.
I think the jury’s still out on whether secondary schools should remain open because pubescent teenagers’ immune systems tend to act much like those of adults. However, pre-pubescent children (like your son) will tend to have a very good innate immune system, which will at least protect him against the virus. Consequently, young children tend to be less contagious because they eliminate the virus much more quickly than adults, but the latter can catch it from them in the short time they are contagious, so it’s worth being cautious.
