normal resting heart rate is 60-100bpm, idk if it’s usually like that for you but to be safe, you should call your doc :)

Leebowles, remember that machines are just that...a low battery, a wrong

placement can cause a fluctuation in readings.

When taking b/p, having both feet on the floor (no crossed legs) arm stretched

out at heart level, all these can contribute to a proper reading. Even dehyration

can play a part in lower readings. The fact that your oximeter gave you a lower reading

could have many reasons including low battery and/or not waiting long enough.

Even nail polish on a woman's nails can affect the reading.

But...in the long run Lee, we are not doctors and it's always in your best interest to

check with your doctor since he knows your health history and can give you a proper

diagnosis or answer. :) xx

How long do you have to wait a couple minutes

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply to Leebowles98

Until the numbers stabilize. A couple minutes is fine since the

numbers will always be changing some.

Are you on medication of any kind?

I'm on b/p med and once and a while I will get 48 bpm.

Lee, don't get trapped into the fears and doubts anxiety is putting in your

mind. Blood pressure and heart rate fluctuate throughout the day. If you

are feeling okay to exercise, believe me, you are okay. Why don't you try

focusing on something else right now. Relax and enjoy the rest of the day or

evening. Your body will take care of you. :) xx

Thing is I cant exercise for long

Unfortunately Lee, right now in what's going on, you have a choice

and that's to be your own advocate. If you feel there is something wrong

then you need to call your doctor. This sounds like Health Anxiety but I'm

not in a position to diagnose.

I went to the doctors about a month ago she listened to my lungs and took my oxygen and everything was fine apparently and then she just said it’s anxiety

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply to Leebowles98

And that's what I feel it is as well. But because we are not authorized to

diagnose one another, we can only go by our own experiences.

Do you believe in your doctor? She has the degree and the medical training.

Try believing in what she has said to you Lee. It's only been a month since you've

been examined. Not years>

She wouldn't have lied to you. She took an oath to protect you.

Believe in that. Push that Anxiety Monster aside. Don't allow him to

trap you in a "what if" mode. You are stronger than that. You believe

in your doctor and I will believe in you. Deep down you know it's your

anxiety. :) xx

I truly loved this comment I really needed to hear this for my self . ANXIETY WILL RUIN YOU MORE THE ILLNESS ITSELF

Its very easy to get caught up in checking your vitals over and over,

I've been there many times.

It generally only makes things worse. And you you don't get the reassurance that you're looking for.

Mine is my BP, I'll take it and if it's high, I want to keep taking it, but will just go up and up with my anxiety...

Anxiety Is horrible and can make you feel all sorts of things.

You can go to the doctor or er but they will just make sure your stable and send you home.

I have a hard time with exercise too, my anxiety makes my back and chest hurt, and I just have to keep walking, as I've been checked out many times.

Hang in there

It's all about baby steps...

Anxiety can cause so many physical problems. A therapist can help alot, as can medication.

Is it normal for the scary breathing and breathlessness to stay every second of the day for 6weeks
