You need to taper off this medication over a 4 week time frame. Did you just stop taking it without tapering off it ?
I was on 20 mg but now 10 for about a month but not taking it regularly
Like every 4 days but when I try to sleep I keep jerking awake and thoughts not going away
X
Also feeling unbalanced and bad stomach x
As dropping off to sleep I get that horrible butterfly feeling like a rush of it
And scares me
Dr offered me mitzapine but scared to take it x
You need to have a physician direct you in your withdrawal . Do not try it on your own. Why risk your welfare by doing it yourself .. Your body becomes use to a drug and when you stop it abruptly your system objects. Sounds like yours isn't happy.
My dr said just stop it
As I told him I was feeling ok and only taking it every 3- 4 days he said just stop it
But last few days feeling bad
Upset stomach
Sweats
Off balance in my head x
You could take a very small amount half a dose or less. You will feel better in 30 min. You should call your doctor back.
I also take 1mg of diazapam
The diazepam is not an issue. But you need to ramp down over a 4 week time frame. If I were in your shoes I would take 5 mg for a week then 5 mg every other day for a week the 5 mg skipping 2 day and 5 mg skipping 3 days for a week. I would take the diazepam at night for sleep. This is just my opinion but I would only take advise from the medical profession and if your Dr won’t listen move onto one that will.
Thank u
Any advice on mitzapine?
Yes I’ve taken Mirtazapine ( Remeron )it the big boy of antidepressants. For me it made me very tired and I lost interest in what I enjoyed. That doesn’t mean you’ll feel that way. I take Wellbutrin, it affects the dopamine in your brain. The effects of Wellbutrin for me is uplifting.
In closing non of the ssri worked for me because I’m not lacking serotonin and adding serotonins overload your brain the same with SNRI again adds serotonin and norepinephrine if your not lacking either of those chemical they won’t work. It’s all a presses of illuminating.
I would definitely try Mirtazapine as it’s a hard hitting medication for major depression, You may love it.
I had withdrawal from my ssri even though I went off of it slowly. I didn't feel too bad until I was off of it for about a week. It was insanely bad. I started taking a new ssri and my doctor prescribed me Clonazepam until the other ssri kicked in. You need to find someone to help you with the withdrawal. I had terrible advice for the first three weeks and I was suicidal.
Can I ask wat symptoms you were getting ? Xxx
It started with being emotional and then nausea, dizziness, and diarrhea. Then it went to full blow panic attacks with racing heart, tight chest and insomnia. I wasn't functioning at all despite trying meditation, going for a walk, baths, mindfulness etc
I got off SSRIs eventually but it took some doing. Prozac has a much longer half life. I slowly reduced my dosage of Effexor over a period of weeks then replaced the final 37.5mg with 10mg of Prozac for a month then quit the Prozac very easily as it stays in the blood longer. Talk to your gp about that possibility. It’s called the Prozac bridge
Your tapering off to fast you have to go slow when getting off your medicine
