FHH - cause or consequence of my anxiety etc

I’m in a sorry state, 3 years of symptoms of unknown cause, no effective treatment for anxiety, about to learn if I have (lifelong) just developed autism aged 73. Have to pay for respite care so my husband can visit his dying son because I am on suicide watch and he is doing NHS care unpaid because they have failed me!

Worse symptoms at present are insomnia ( wake up after max 5 hrs broken sleep feeling much worse than when I went to bed) and chronic fatigue and cough.

Can anyone help?

I’m sorry to hear of your state, I hate to hear you feel suicidal. I’m sorry to hear you have not found effective treatment for your anxiety. I assume you have tried CBT, holistic approaches and or medications? It can be a long journey to find what works for you. If you have autism you may want to try behaviour therapy’s. Your own thoughts and behaviours are what drive you into a state of anxiety. Perhaps you have some sensory issues as well that put you into a heightened state of awareness and anxiety. Occupational therapy may help with some of those things. It sounds like you may need to desensitize yourself to some of your triggers. For sleep try to get some gentle exercise, maybe try yoga for beginners and practice breath work and meditation these things can help you get into a restful sleep, maybe you can work your way to 5 hours of solid sleep. I also suffer from chronic fatigue when I’m in a constant state of anxiety which sounds like you likely are. You’re exhausting yourself with your thoughts and feelings. You are in control and you have the power to help yourself. You don’t have to believe every thought you have, your thoughts are powerful but it it doesn’t mean they’re true. Sometimes it all on how you look at things, this is where CBT can be helpful. I hope you find some relief soon, brighter days are ahead. Reaching out and asking for help and talking about how you feel knowing you’re not the only one is important. Be kind a patient with yourself it takes time to feel better
