Trazodone and Ativan

I’ve been tapering Ativan. I’m down to .75 mg a day. Dr. put me on trazodone to help with sleep. It worked the first night. It’s only day three. I’m wondering if it takes time to adjust. I’m feeling more shaky now than I did before I started. Thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks you

Not sure if it helps man, but I'm tapering down off of Sertraline 100mg, did 50mg for a week and now two days off of it.

I also feel shaky and getting weird jolts in my body. Read up a lot on it (why do I Google symptoms), but yeah, from what I understand it's completely normal as your brain and its neurotransmitters are readjusting to the decrease in medication. Stay strong!

Do you think the trazodone is making it worse? I thought it would calm me but it’s not

Well I'm not a doctor obviously. But all I would say is that every form of antidepressant has side effects when you start taking them, increase the dosage, reduce or stop taking the medication.

As you said, you've only just started taking the medication and as you're probably well aware, antidepressants don't just start working, they take time to build up in your system. I wouldn't quickly judge it as they're not working because you're in an adjustment phase.

But only you know how you feel, a quick look up of the symptoms of starting this medication can contribute to the way you're now feeling.

Appreciate it! I think mine is anxiety and my medication is making it worse. I actually feel like I’m in withdrawal and concerned the trazodone is accentuating the problem. I’ve been up since 1:30 am and it’s 1:49 pm my time. Just exhausted but can’t sleep. Thank you
