It sounds like you’re in one of the worst “phases” of your anxiety where you question every little thing you feel. The burning is a result of your oversensitive nervous system. It’s sending down signals constantly to the rest of your body for absolutely no reason which is leaving you anxious and confused as to why you feel the way you do. The burning is hands down one of the worst symptoms of anxiety but it’s harmless.
How is your breathing? A doctor once told me that anxiety oftentimes stems from our respiration rate being off. Instead of hyperventilating, I oftentimes hold my breath and I notice that when I do this, I have a whole array of symptoms like burning and crawling skin, twitching muscles, etc. it doesn’t happen immediately but over time, the practice of of deep breathing can help to calm down the sensitive nervous system. Believe it or not, some of what you’re feeling, your body has felt before but our bodies learn overtime to quiet and ignore certain sensations so that we can live in the normal world. When we’re anxious we somewhat lose this ability so we feel EVERYTHING and then worry about it when I reality we have probably felt that before.

Mine will start in the back of my neck and go to the top of my head! Burning sensation YES. irritates me. It eventually goes away but just started happening recently. It happens often. But you're the first person I've met to have this same symptom. What a relief
It can do anything, devastate you're Whole life like it did mine. I had a BREAK down so BAD that I had to retire early in alot of debt.
Yeah it can make it slow or fast. Anxiety presents itself it lots of ways! My go to self help is meditation and clearing my mind, not always easy to do but some proper me time is always a good help
I don't think so, as the anxiety usually causes over production of cortisol which makes the heart race faster. If by chance you had adrenal fatigue (not to be confused with adrenal insufficiency) then maybe the heart would slow down a bit, it does with a friend of mine.
