Can anyone relate? When I have panic attacks my breathing is never fast it is usually slow but still chest breathing and my heart rate doesn't increase much. When I do deep breathing exercises my heart will usually start increasing and cause palpitations. The deep breathing usually doesn't help much most of the time. My attacks can last 20 mins to an hour or two depending on the time of day.

Hi, just wanted to say that I have something similar. My anxiety symptoms are usually light headedness and shaky feelings with that feeling of dread. I don’t seem to get the fast heart rate nor fast breathing (not yet anyway!). sometimes deep breathing makes me feel more lightheaded and therefore makes me more anxious. I have read that certain breathing can make you feel worse.
I find meditating when not having a panic attack is fine, but during an attack deep breathing has not been useful for me.
