Escitalopram help
Hi Frenchy1292, I've been on Lexapro for 5 years now and it has been a great med for me.
I am also on 20mg however I started on 10mg then upped to 15mg where I have stayed
under quite recently until I was put on 20mg.
It might be that the 10 to 20 mg was too large a jump for you. Please talk it over with
your prescribing physician. He may be able to make some adjustments without having
you get off completely. I hope this helps some. xx
I've been on 10mg for about 3 weeks and am also starting to feel the benefits of it. Have not been upped to 20mg. When I first started it was really hard and made me feel worse on the 10mg. The dosage increase will hopefully start to help again in a couple of weeks. Most medications can make people feel worse to start with. Speak to your doctor/phycitrist who put you on them and tell them how you are feeling with the increase in dosage. It's really important you get the right support at the moment
Thankyou for your replys I knew it would be hard at the start as I've been on this med before and you kind of forget what's it like,I know I will get back to that happy place again it's just that rocky Road at the start ,wish it was easier
Hi Frenchy
Here in the UK the dosage for GAD is 10 mg which they tend to keep you at. I’ve been on 10 mg for 4 months (first 2 weeks on 5mg when I had usual side effects) and 10 mg is great for my GAD. I don’t intend to increase dosage. 😊
