Intense brain fog after going out?

I went out to an event for the first time in a month or more today. I stayed for maybe 2 hours. It was my boyfriend's cousin's bday party. I did a lot of socializing. The problem is that now I feel brain dead. Like some of the most intense brain fog I've ever felt. I'm scared now and discouraged about going out again because I dont want to feel this way. Is it just because I havent gone out and socialized in so long and my brain is tired or something? I thought going out was supposed to make you feel BETTER lol.

Hey someone. Going out DOES make you feel better in the long run, but it's important that you not turn your brain fog into a negative. You were hyper stimulated and now your nervous system is tired. That's all. The key to healing all of this is to accept the sensations that come with it and not add to them with worry (this is the actual work of recovery and it takes practice). You are actually fine, and can be really proud of yourself for pulling off such a social engagement. It's awesome.

Hi, absolutely, I second what JAYnLA have written.

It is a positive thing that you went and now you are over stimulated but in a good way. Try meditation and breathing techniques- it might help.

Thank you guys, that makes me feel so much better. I didnt realize how tired my brain was, I fell asleep pretty much immediately after I posted this. Now I'm up and feeling a little less anxious than usual. :)
