Hey guys, I've got a quick question. Does anyone else blame themselves/beats themselves up (mentally and emotionally) if you forget to do something small? Something small like going to the shop or not doing something??

Is it normal?
I have this quite a lot, keep forgetting thing I thought I was getting dementia, but my doctor said it my depression it can cause this
Yup. Is it normal? Probably - in the sense that alot of people do this. Is it healthy? Probably not lol... You gotta change the script in your head - that running dialogue that never shuts up. Next time you beat yourself up over something you did big or small, pretend you are your own best friend, and then tell yourself what you would say to your best friend who just made the same mistake. You'll be shocked at the difference. The way I see it, there's absolutely no good reason for us to maintain such a double standard. It's such nonsense.
That's the worst...
I tend to beat myself up for little things I do but I'm trying to practice self compassion. The negative inner dialogue gets very old. We hopefully wouldn't say to a friend the negative things we say to ourselves.
