Sertraline and stomach problems

Hi all, I am moving to sertraline and off 30mg mirtazapine. I will be taking 50mg sertraline and after a few weeks taper the mirtazapine. After taking 1 tablet this morning of mirtazapine I had diarrhea 3 times within 2 hours of taking it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes! The first week caused me to be very nauseous. It's a very common side effect. Try taking it with a meal. That helped me more than anything. I promise it won't last forever. It's just your body becoming accustomed to it. Maybe ask your prescribing doctor about halving the sertraline dosage to make it a bit easier on your body? I started with 20 mg years ago.

Yep just a good old start up side effect! Like Lm92 said it won’t last long.🙂
