Setbacks....

I have been employing Claire Weekes strategy to panic, and it has been fairly controllable good for a few weeks since I started (even though I still have them daily; they aren't as strong as they were). But; now I am having a bad one....how long does it take to have these things manageable? It's so annoying and depressing to deal with these, and to have this bad one after a few weeks.... -sigh-

Dustin, I am a great believer in Claire Weekes Acceptance method. But do remember the fourth imperitive of her system is to 'Let time pass'.

You probably spent a lot of time getting yourself into a state of anxiety disorder. So don't think that Claire Weekes' method is going to offer recovery overnight. It won't. It takes time for over sensitised nerves that have been bombarded with fear hormone for months to recover.

A few weeks is not enough to effect a complete recovery. Patience and persistance will bring success in the end.

I still am waiting on her whole book. Lately I have been listening to her audio book Pass Through Panic. I can’t wait to get her full book.

Dustin, That book will bring you understanding, reassurance and a road plan for recovery. Don't be put off by the social context and gender roles which were of the time she wrote the book 50 years ago. What Claire Weekes wrote is as relevant today as when she wrote it, you will soon recognise yourself in its pages.

Don't forget Dustin you can't have a setback unless you have made progress It will take time I think she says Let time pass ?

I have found her books such a comfort to me Just keep reading her words it will all come right you will see

Dustin,I'm where you are,you find things that work for awhile and bam! its right back again and yes I'm Like will it ever end, will it go away. Just try breathing and I try guided meditation.. I use the app Insight Timer; there I like to meditate with Tara Brach and Bethany Auriel-Hagan .It works ;to be honest (sometimes). Try it,you may like it. I am going to look into Claire Weekes; thank you.Have abetter day DustinS85
