I have a pain in my left arm. That’s been there all day and it’ll go away for a bit but come back. I keep seeing silver sparkles if I stand up and sick back down quickly. I have anxiety. I am so scared what the heck is happening to me???? I’m only 18!!!

Hi Plushiesaremyjam,

If this is the first time this has happened to you, get checked out as soon as possible by a doctor. It may be anxiety but you never know.

Doctors would rather see you and find out that it's nothing rather than have you ignore it.

If you get the ok, trust that the doctors have your back and acknowledge that it was your anxiety showing itself to you. No-one experience anxiety in the same way :)

If you are in doubt in any way it’s always best to go in and get checked out, if only to ease your mind.

The pain could be from sleeping on your arm wrong, and your anxiety may be making your blood pressure spike. Do you have any way to check your blood pressure, anywhere nearby with a blood pressure machine? It may be worth looking into first if possible.

However, I will say that anxiety attack’s can have all sorts of symptoms so it could be that, and most likely is unless you have any conditions that put you at risk. Good luck, hope you feel better soon ❤️

I doubt it. I'm not very active from my heart palpitations. They scare me so much that I try not to get them started. It doesn't always happen and they never hurt. I'm just paranoid about it all

Can I ask what your diey consists of?

How are your sugar levels or caffiene levels

Have you gone to get your palpitations checked out? What did thr doctor say?

Do you ever check your heart/heart beat/ Blood pressure when you are experiencing the palpitation?

Im asking all this because I too was affected by palpitations all my life and thought it was due to my diet but long behold my buddy called me an ambulance because he was very concerned he actually saved my life is what he says but if I hadnt gone to the hospital

I would have been greatly affected further down the road

I ended up having SVT and WPW

Supra ventricular tachycardia

Wolf parkinson white syndrome

Wpw is basically an extra electrical path way that causes SVT which is basically a very fast or irregular heart beat

I get yhem sometiemd still but the operation i had which was a cardiac ablation was the cure to my palpitations

When my buddy says he saved my life its because my BP was well over 200 beats per minute unfortunately i couldnt save his life.. he ended up passing away due to being septic from an infection /: 35 years old may his soul rest in peace!

I eat pretty healthy, well healthy for an American teenager. I don't drink coffee and I drink tea sometimes but not often enough.

When I get a palpitation my heart beat doesn't really change and the last time I went to my doctor my blood pressure was fine. I went to the urgent care and had an EKG done a few months ago after having a strong palpitation that triggered a panic attack. The EKG came out normal and they said I have a very healthy heart from what they can hear. When I get my palpitations its usually a sign of a day full of anxiety is ahead. I have been very stressed out lately from college (I take college classes through our community college even though I'm a senior in highschool cause our college is cool like that) and from an up coming test that I actually took today for the school (The Work Keys test to be exact) and my dog had surgery yesterday and came home today and shes been whimpering and wining from having a cone on her head with itchy stitches.

Oh boy sounds to me like its anxiety which is your palpitations as much as it seems alarming believe it or not most palps are benign and seems to me you alrrady know what is causing it lets try to resolve the stress levels

1. Breathe withcthis tehnique when you feel anxious

Breathe in through yout nose for 3 seconds if youd like hold your breathe for 2 seconds then exhale for 4 seconds this will reset your nervous system

2. Lavender essential oil is key in anxiety it calms you down

3. Cashews are great for anxiety

Tea you say you dont drink it often but what type of tea? Because tea had caffene now I know this most likely isnt causing your palps but its domething to look into

An EKG Wont pick up anything unless its happening right then and there so if you had a palpitation before walking into an urgent care and they hooked you up its not gonna show anything

A cardiologit on the other hand can do all sorts of tests to see what actually causes your palpitations which is pretty darn fascinating if you ask me

I would see if maybe they are covered under your insurance if you have it i hope you do because its quite expensive

Any who make some calls to your local cardiologists if it actually concerns you enough to make you panic

I say better safe than sorry

And who knows maybe just maybe but very highly unlikely the arm pain could be related i doubt it but nothings impossible
